We've teamed up with the Shire Horse Society show at the East of England Showground on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 March 2008, to offer 10 lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the show.
The two-day spectacle will showcase over 200 Shire Horses at the new indoor grand arena at the East of England showgrond in Peterborough. The Shire Horse Society Spring Show is the largest Shire Horse show in the world.
Visitors to the Show, which attracts spectators from across the country, as well as overseas, will be able to see hundreds of Shire Horses expertly presented and dressed in their traditional glory.
There will be a range of demonstrations and classes featuring in-hand, harness, turnout, ridden, with implements and cross-country driving. There is fun for all the family, including vintage tractors and farm machinery, a dog agility show and a Victorian funfair.
The two-day event, organised by the Shire Horse Society, a registered charity, helps to raise much needed funds to support this threatened breed and secure its future, especially among the younger generation.
