Sandy Balls wins environment award

Sandy Balls Holiday Centre has won the David Bellamy Conservation award for outstanding and consistent contribution to the environment.
The award designed to rate park management, protection of plant and animal habitat was given to Sandy Balls for the 12th consecutive year.
The New Forest centre has introduced a living Sedum roof at its Welcome Building and water saving taps and showers have been installed in all of its new lodges.
Sandy Balls, in a joint venture with the Forestry Commission, will also return Sandy Balls wood to its native state under a 30 -year plan.
Tracey Farmer, Sandy Balls Marketing and Sales Director said: We have just completed a multi-million pound refurbishment programme which incorporated even more measures designed to further minimise our carbon footprint and I am delighted that all our hard work has been recognised by the awards.
